Major Daisy Castricone was born in a small town in Panama, Central America, close to the border of Costa Rica. She attended Niagara University in Niagara Falls, New York, from 1979 to 1983, on a scholarship she earned that is awarded to one student every four years. She knew very little English when she entered the United States, but was a quick learner and, despite having to make the transition from Spanish to English while learning and passing the courses of her chosen major, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, graduating with her class in just four years. Upon graduation, she married, became a citizen of the United States, a mother, and a very successful businesswoman. She was the winner of several major prizes of international travel while in the business world, but she was determined to return to nursing to fulfill her desire to help people.
She was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant on December 20, 1994 in the United States Air Force. She served as Clinical Nurse in the Critical Care, Medical-Surgical, CardioThoracic, and Coronary Intensive Care Unit from June 1996 to April 2001. She was also deployed in March 2003 and spent 142 days at Landstuhl Air Base, Germany. She was instrumental in the transition from an eight bed ICU to a 28 bed unit at the beginning of the Iraq War, and was honored to be chosen by both the physicians and the family to care for and transport the first female POW of the war.
Major Castricone was next deployed in June 2004 and spent 101 days in Kirkuk, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where she treated over 466 battlefield casualties and 571 critically wounded service personnel.
Major Castricone transferred to Lackland AFB, Texas in Sept 2008.
From 2010 – 2015, Major Castricone, was selected as the Flight Commander of the Internal Medicine Clinic at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Care at Lackland JBSA, TX. She directed operations and executed the FY business plan and budget of the Air Force’s largest Internal Medicine Clinic and Graduate Medical Education (GME) program? 139 members’ physicians, nurses, technicians and GME residents. She was the catalyst for the first Patient Centered Medical Home for 9,000 enrollees.
She and her husband, Mark, are the proud parents of two children. Their son, Mark Jr., is an honors graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, a master’s graduate of Stony Brook University in New York, and is a Ph.D. candidate in philosophy at the University of South Florida. Their daughter, Tiffany, graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in architecture from Tulane University in New Orleans in 2008, became a licensed Architect in the State of Florida in 2013 and is working for VBA Design, a prestigious Architecture firm in Panama City, Florida.

“Mark is a fantastic salesperson. He is very knowledgeable of the business and took great care in ensuring he could assist me in any way he could. Mark and Daisy were so great. They even helped me do a final move out clean up the day I sold the house! Without their help it would have taken me into the wee hours of the night. Although the house sell process was stressful, Mark and his team made it bearable.”

Andrea has gone through a serious little real estate adventure. She’s sold her home with us in New Braunfels. Her mother sadly passed away, and Andrea is now living in her mother’s former home. Now she’s looking in the Canyon Lake area and we’ve found her a place. It’s just a matter of time now that she can finally settle in and unpack the boxes.
